Part-Time Bookkeeper

Verdant is seeking an energetic, self-motivated person with at least 2 years bookkeeping/accounting experience to begin as a part-time Bookkeeper and to train for the Office Manager position. Must be proficient in Microsoft programs, knowledge of QuickBooks Pro is required. This position starts at a half day a week and could expand to a half-time position as the firm grows. Starting pay will be commensurate with experience. We offer opportunities for growth within a professional work environment. Responsibilities include:Bookeeping:- Pay bills (online proficiency required)- Run checks, bill customers and clients- Prepare bank deposits- Process employee timesheets and run payroll checks - Prepare monthly and quarterly tax deposits- Prepare quarterly and year-end reports- Reconcile bank statements - Business taxes and permits- Monitor cash flow- Analyze and advise on purchasing decisionsOther Administrative:- File organization & record keeping- Order supplies- Maintain website server account- Answer phone- Develop marketing strategies- Set up travel arrangements for conferences, etc.
